Miss Singapore Universe 2007: Top 18 Revealed
The Semi Finals of the Miss Singapore Universe saw the cut from 24 contestants to 18 finalists. Meet the 18 beautiful ladies of Miss Singapore Universe 2007!

Why do you want to join Miss Singapore Universe?
I was hoping to get into University and the $25,000 prize money is more than enough to fund it! But after joining this competition, I have had a change in plans. After these few weeks of training, I've learnt more about myself, I get to meet new people and also to better myself!
Joining this competition, what do you hope achieve?
I wanted to gain a new experience. It is a total difference from my architecture and building studies. I hope to meet new friends and also grow up from there.

What 3 Qualities do you think a Miss Singapore Universe should have?
She should possess the ability to present herself effectively. A beautiful heart and also communication. She must be able to speak well and be informed of current updates.
MSU4) Peggy Chang, 21, Undergraduate
Would you give up your studies if you become the winner of Miss Singapore Universe 2007 and why?
Yes, I would. Because it's something to be proud of. My exams are around the competition period but I should be able to cope with my studies and prepare for the finals as well.
MSU5) Carol Chin, 22, Undergraduate
Beauty or brains: Which best describes you?
I believe it's a mix of both. I feel that it is important to improve intellectually and also age gracefully.
MSU6) Tay Yi Ming, 22, Undergraduate
What was your ambition as a child? And why this now?
Oh, I had many when I was a child. I wanted to be an actress, a singer when I was younger. But now, I am in this competition to gain more experience.
MSU7) Jessica Tan, 24, Flight Stewardess
Joining Miss Singapore Universe, what would you like to achieve through this platform?
I would like to get the experience and in probably 50 years time, tell my grandchildren how the competition has changed me and make me realise how gruelling the competition is.

Beauty or brains: Which best describes you?
Beauty. I believe inner beauty is more important and you would be able to live life more fully too!

What was your ambition as a child? And why this now?
I wanted to be a SIA air stewardess. It is high class waitressing and you get to serve alot of people too! I wanted to be that.

Why do you want to join Miss Singapore Universe?
It is a chance for me to learn more about myself and meet new friends as well.
MSU11) Eunice Chizuko Ng, 24, Social Worker
What 3 qualities do you think a Miss Singapore Universe should have?
Well, I think that she should have beauty, brains and also a heart. The heart factor is because volunteerism is very important and I believed it should be promoted.
MSU12) Joanne Lopez, 20, Student
Would you trade this experience for anything else? Why?
No. Because this is a new experience for me. It is able to make me more confident, more ladylike and I am very fortunate to be part of this.

If you win this competition, what will you hope to achieve?
At the end, with the experience, I would have learnt alot. It is my part of the journey of being a woman and even if I don't win, I would still glad cause I did achieve something.

Would you trade this experience for anything else? Why?
No, because like my motto, I always believed that if you don't do it now, there might not be a second chance!

What 3 qualities do you think a Miss Singapore Universe should have?
I believe she should have a beautiful heart, which is sincerity. Honesty and also intelligence so that she is able to present herself well.

Why do you want to join Miss Singapore Universe?
I believe in creating milestones. And i believe this competition is another milestone in my life.
MSU17) Fang Yu Ying, 21, Undergraduate & Budding Entrepreneur
What was your ambition as a child? And why this now?
I wanted to be a teacher. But I realise it is a lot of hard work now. I am now working with a marketing and PR agency because it gives me a chance to meet new people and interact.
MSU18) Judy Lee, 27, Flight Stewardess
Would you give up your work if you become a Miss Singapore Universe and why?
I would give up my work because it is something that I am really proud of.

Christabel (MSU1) is frm Communications n Media TP! I didn’t realize that! I saw her before, she’s really nice and friendly

No point speculating now, ‘cos in Miss Singapore, there’s always the “personality test” which again cannot be seen on faces. At most times, it’s not the most beautiful woman that wins :-p

this has got to be the ugliest bunch of girls put together on a platform like this. this is exactly like the show ‘extreme makeover’. only, without the extreme makeover.
this contest should be renamed Miss Singapore In Her Own Universe.
