9 Hours of ‘Tchouk-ing’ Good Fun!
It was Youth Day last Monday and instead of spending the time lazing around at home, close to 80 youths from various schools and constituencies gathered together for a 'Tchouk-ing' encounter at the Under-18 Tchoukball Cup 2007.
Held at the Tampines Sports Hall, the tournament, which was held in a league format, saw participants competiting from as early as 9am in the morning to as late as 6pm in the evening.
A total of 27 matches were played, with the winners getting awarded with 2 points and losers, none. A draw would see both teams getting 1 point each.
In the end, team Fiery Warriors won the Boys Category of the tournament while the YDC Girls emerged victorious in the Girls/Mixed Catgeory. Both sides won all of their matches with the Fiery Warriors engaging in an intense and yes, fiery encounter in their last match against the Chong Pang CSC B Team. The YDC Girls, on the other hand, had a pretty smooth path through to the podium.
Organised by the Tchoukball Association of Singapore (TBAS), the tournament is the first of its kind in Singapore and will make a comeback next year. For now, why not study the rules? Visit www.tchoukball.org.sg to find out more!
