Just another Singapore Idol? I hope not. Forget about being a financial analyst, economist, lawyer.... Well, at least for the time being. If your dream is about having a concert showcase and $100, 000, you might want to consider living your dream. This time, you won't have to fight with the "young people". MediaCorp TV Channel 5 announces its brand new reality talent show, Live The Dream, a talentime for aspiring singers aged 25 and above. If your childhood dream was to be a singer, don't miss this chance to be able to realize your unfulfilled aspiration! Unlike the Singapore Idol and The Dance Floor, this talent show has no age limit. This means your 70 year old grandmother can have a chance to be auditioned as well. The only criteria? You have to be 25 years old and above as of 2 June 2007. There will be two categories, solo and group. The solo winner will be walking away with a showcase concert and $40, 000, while the group winner, a showcase concert and $60, 000. At the Fashion bar yesterday, Ms Selena Ho, MediaCorp TV’s Network Programming and Promotions 5 Vice-President, believes that this show will be a phenomenal hit. “We find that there are many professionals out there who want to be a singer. Parents, however say that they got to have a 9 to 5 job. This show gives an opportunity to professionals to become singers. It is going to be very exciting.” Judges for this show was revealed yesterday. Formerly the judges of Singapore Idol, Ken Lim and Dick Lee will be the judges for Live The Dream as well. Youth.SG found out that Dick Lee used to be a participant for talentime. “This is like a return to a talentime style kind of show, which we all miss. A lot of people will be interested to watch this, because their neighbour or colleague might be in it. It is a Singaporean show. Somehow, Singaporeans have forgotten about this kind of dreams. Nowadays, they just dream that their apartment will go en bloc,” Lee joked. On why the former Singapore Idol judges were chosen once again, Selena Ho said, “Both are well-known judges who have established themselves. They have met people from all walks of life and have a wealth of experience.” |
